Animation: a draft sentence claims a 20-person team cut processing time by 40% with AI. A check against the source facts (6 people, 40 requests a week, 0 trials run) marks the headcount contradicted and the 40% unsupported. The invented figures dissolve and re-form as a repaired sentence: a six-person team handles 40 requests a week and proposes a two-week trial.

Draft

“ . . .”

Supported: the source says it. Contradicted: the source says otherwise. Unsupported: the source doesn’t say.

A defensible repair Our six-person logistics team processes 40 requests each week, taking about 18 minutes per request. We propose a two-week trial of AI-assisted request summaries, with a person comparing each summary against the original request. We would measure accuracy and processing time before deciding whether to expand. Every reported figure traces to the source. The trial, the check and the measurement are proposals, labelled as such. Predict

A draft says “a trial saved 40%.” What would have to exist for that to be true?

Stays on this device.
A trial that ran, a measurement before and after, and a record of what was compared. A sentence supplies none of these.
Worked example

Source · 6 people · 40 requests a week · about 18 min per request · two-week trial proposed · no trial run · savings unknown

Riley’s draft, checked.

“20-person team”contradicted · source says 6
“40% reduction”unsupported · no trial
“Ready for rollout”unsupported · no trial
“Immediate adoption”unsupported · no trial evidence
Guided practice

Source · 6 people · 40 requests a week · about 18 min per request · two-week trial proposed · no trial run · savings unknown

Your turn. Three statements.

“40 requests a week.”
“Morale has improved.”
“Under ten minutes each.”
Independent case · Morgan

Source · 5 volunteers · 30 requests a week · about 12 min each · one-week trial proposed · no trial run · venue pending · sending not authorized

Morgan’s draft has five problems.

Find them in the practice sheet, then write a three-sentence proposal where every figure matches the source.

What is free, and when do I need an account?

Public lessons and references are free to read without an account. Prompt samples need no account; full libraries are also free with an account. Accounts sync the five core tracks. Academy and Workspace progress stays in this browser. External AI tools and APIs may have their own costs.

Do I need coding experience or an AI tool?

Foundations needs no coding. The first lesson includes supplied drafts for offline practice, so you can begin without an AI tool or paid service. Intermediate introduces Python and APIs; technical lessons explain their setup requirements. Use public or synthetic data and only tools approved for the information you provide.

Who can use VetsLearn?

The material is written for service members and veterans, with military and civilian work examples. Anyone can read the open curriculum. You do not need to verify military status to start.

How are progress and completion recorded?

You practice, review your own work, and complete the lesson’s knowledge check where provided. Completion is saved in this browser; sign in to sync supported tracks. Browser data can be lost if cleared, so My progress includes a backup. Completion badges record self-reported progress, not independent assessment or professional certification. Our answer Our five volunteers handle 30 appointment requests weekly at about 12 minutes each, and venue confirmation remains pending. We propose a one-week trial of AI-assisted reminder drafts with a person checking each draft against the source. We would measure processing time and accuracy before deciding what to do next; no savings or attendance improvement has been established, and sending is outside this exercise. One acceptable proposal. Different wording can pass. A made-up result cannot.
